Description: The story opens with a young girl, Marianna, coming home from visiting her Nana in Espa"a to find that her father has left her mother for another woman. This leaves Marianna's life and family hostile, especially since she is lacking a father-figure. As a grade eleven senior at her high school in Niagara Canada, Marianna should be thinking about going to university in the next few years. However, she finds her grades declining and her temper growing. Not long after her father leaves, she gets a new math teacher at school, named Mr. De Luca. At first sight, Marianna feels an instant attraction to him, oblivious to the problems that have the potential to arise. Over time, Mr. De Luca begins to have the same feelings for Marianna and a discreet, on-again-off-again relationship begins. Regardless of this moral and illegal taboo, Marianna unconsciously becomes obsessed with the thought of being with her teacher, and even stalks his home for fear that he is with another woman.
